Sound walk

As I walked through the "melting pot" better known as New York City in the area of Times Square I heard many sounds that were natural, pleasant, noisy and even obnoxious. I heard the sounds of children's happiness as they got out school to greet their parents. As I continued, I came across sounds of  the food trucks sizzling which engaged my sense of smell as well. People laughing, arguing, agreeing, and even the sound of their foot steps triggered my hearing. What also really brought my attention was the many dialects spoken in this city. One block I only heard people speaking English. And then the next block there were a substantial amount of people who spoke Spanish. I also heard an Asian dialect, and two woman speaking French to each other. Down further on my sound walk I heard amateur musicians playing their music for money who were actually very good. Museum of Modern Art

As I took a self guided tour of the Museum of Modern Art, I was very fascinated by all of the diverse art work and art history they had for display. What I saw, in my opinion one of the most beautiful pieces was a large photo montage of woman giving birth from all different perspectives. It represented the beauty of life and how natural birth of a human being can be show cased as art work. It displayed great affection between a mother and her child, a husband and wife, and a family united. As I toured through the Louise Reinhardt Smith Gallery, I came across fascinating historical pieces such as a 1972 Rollei 35 camera showcased next to a 1973 Graflex Crown Graphic 4 by 5 camera providing a higher image resolution. After I analyzed historical photography from the 1970's, I moved on over to the year 2000 which is an obvious difference in technological change.
